BTS or Bangtan Boys is a popular korean group consists of 7 members; Jimin, Jin, Suga, Rap Monster, J-hope, V, and Jungkook.

Whenever I watch music videos, I always see in the comments section, “I hope they do a collab with bts” or “guys! Army here.” Having little background about the K-pop scene, I always thought that the word “bts” means “behind the scenes”. While browsing in instagram, I saw one of the Youtubers I follow (Simply_kenna) mentioning in a post that she is a fan of kpop group named BTS. I encountered more comments with the word “bts” and googled it because I was so curious why they have so many fans.

I learned that they are a famous Kpop group. I usually don’t listen to Kpop songs so I only know a few groups such as Big Bang, 2NE1, SNSD, and BLACKPINK. Learning who they are somehow satisfied my curiousity.

While searching for videos to watch in Youtube, a mv of their song “Spring Day” popped up in my “Recommended” section. I was skeptical at listening it at first since I don’t really listen to kpop songs and I don’t know if I would like it. Eventually, I gave in to see why this group is so famous and how come their fans are so nice.

When I was watching Spring Day, I was busy figuring out how to tell them apart. I’m going to be honest that I didn’t focus on the music part at first, I figured which is which. That’s how I am, I need to know who is singing, who is this person in the screen. That’s why in the first 2-3 days of watching their music videos, I was so frustrated. I cannot tell them apart. Their songs are good but I cannot fully enjoy it because I couldn’t tell them apart. I could only tell who’s Suga, Jimin (sometimes I cannot distinguish him too), and Rap Monster. The rest, I always mix them up. I tried the hair color method but failed since they change hair colors in mvs.

I asked for help in the comments section because I gave up distinguishing them and the fans were nice enough to help me. They told me that it’s really hard to tell them apart at first but I’ll get by. One fan gave me the time duration of each member in the mv of Spring day and one even welcomed me in their fandom. I was really touched. Their fandom is really nice, unlike the others who fight and compare. The time duration of each member in the mv helped me, I can now distinguish Jin but I still mixed up J-hope, V, and Jungkook. With the power of google, I was able to distinguish them.  I googled “bts <member> <mv>”. Hahaha.

I watched more music videos of them and distinguished them by checking in the comments from time to time and google if I was right. I can now distinguish them though I still get confused with V and Jungkook sometimes. Now that I can tell them apart, I can now enjoy their music.

Spring Day is definitely my favorite song of them. It’s the first song I’ve heard of them and it’s a ballad (+mv is instagram filter we need). The song is calming and the train part is what I usually imagine myself while listening to it. Suga’s rap is my favorite part of the song. His voice is so deep and that scene of him rapping in the pile of clothes is so angsty.

I watched Not Today too. At first, I didn’t like it because it was too loud for me but after listening it for several times in Spotify, I liked it. I always say to myself Not Today if I’m having a bad mood.

I also watched Fire and omg, guys, I lost it when they dropped it using a stove. I’m fascinated with gray hair so Suga with gray hair is so “waaah, so cute”. I almost did not recognize Jin with blonde hair but he’s so handsome and seeing Jimin with black hair, so cute, he looks younger.

I tried watching their other mvs and Blood, Sweat, & Tears is my favorite one. It’s so beautiful, guys. The boys are all so beautiful. The mv was so artsy, dreamy, and elegant. I’m having LSS of the song until now. Jin and Jimin are so beautiful V and Jungkook are so angelic but I find Jimin the most beautiful in that vid. Gray hair + blue suit, he’s so dreamy in the vid. The comments section were all exploding of Jimin too. Hahaha.

I have observed that Jin doesn’t sing much in the songs and I remember reading a post that Jin is aware that he doesn’t get lines much since his voice suits ballad and BTS doesn’t sing ballad much but he understands. I felt bad because I hope he gets to sing more since he has a good voice and BTS is not BTS without him.

I also discovered via reading the comments that Jimin was starving himself because haters called him fat. He passed out during practices because of a very strict diet where he doesn’t almost eat. I’m unaware of his abs because he’s already adorable without showing it off. I hope he would take care of himself and stop starving himself because it may lead to an eating disorder and no one wants that. I hope he remains true to himself and take care of himself. We’re already happy seeing him happy. I saw in the comments how supportive the fandom is regarding this issue and it’s nice to know.

I know I’m only new to BTS but for me, BTS is BTS because of the 7 of them. It won’t be BTS if they are incomplete, it has to be the 7 of them. It’s like them as a whole creates BTS. If one is gone, it wouldn’t be the same. Do you get my point? It’s like they really form one unit and they suit each other that’s why their songs are really good and they’re now one of the kpop legends.

I think this is the first time I don’t have a favorite or a bias. Lol. In Big Bang, my bias is T.O.P. but here in BTS, I cannot choose one. I like them all, I like the group itself. At first I thought it was Jimin, then Jin, then Suga, but I cannot decide since the other has this too, the other has this, and so on so I ended up not having a bias at all.

I wrote this post so I could finally let out to my chest my fandom feels. I cannot say that I’m an army because it’s an overstatement. To be an Army is an honor and I think I cannot live with the expectations of an Army so I don’t want to be called one (yet?) Because I think to be a loyal fan or Army is to know when will their next comeback be (I heard they’re having a comeback but I know nothing about it), know their albums and shows, and etc. I just really enjoy their songs and that is enough for me. I admire Army fandom that’s why I have so much respect for them. I don’t think I deserve to be called one because of their dedication. Armys are the best!

How my Sunday went

I cannot change my body clock anymore. No matter how late I sleep, I always wake up at 6 or 7am. I could feel my eyes feel droopy because I’m still sleepy but I cannot sleep anymore. It’s supposed to be a rainy season but it’s so hot and dry today. I’m stuck at home since I don’t have money to go out. I just browsed Youtube and social medias before finally continuing my anime marathon.

These days, I tend to watch series or movies that are in a foreign language. I’m not sure what’s up with me but it’s my interest at the moment. I don’t know why but watching in foreign language and watching subs is a fun thing to do right now for me. I feel that watching these kind of movies and series makes it quite interesting since they have a different culture and far from the usual Hollywood movies. This is just my opinion. I promise to add more screencaps in my posts. All of the images I get are either from Pinterest or Google. I really do want to add screencaps of my favorite scenes to make my post more interesting but it’s quite hard using an iPad. I’m trying to save up to buy a laptop to make things easier. I passed my laptop to my younger siblings thinking that I wouldn’t need it anymore since I’m done with college and I have my tablet. I kinda regretted that decision. Hehe.

Anyway, I watched Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo as a recommendation from a friend. I have nothing else to watch so I just went with it and liked it. It gave me an idea of an artist’s life as a student.

I watched a lot of movies rekationg to art students but never about a manga artist or an animator and it’s really interesting for me. It’s adorable that Sorata is the cat guy since usual characters have cat ladies. I can relate to Sorata’s character. His feelings when his hard work doesn’t pay off while Mashiro gets all opportunities in a silver platter but then again, I got to see how a genius work. They put a lot of effort and hard work too in their work. They are also pure of determination and dedication. I find it admirable that the 2 geniuses, Misaki and Mashiro, don’t pressure themselves in other people’s expectations knowing they are geniuses. They just do what they want to do. It’s fun to see a game in an anime and it got me interested in game designing though I don’t play a lot of games.

I ship Sorata and Mashiro because they complement each other. I really dislike Nanami because she’s interfering my ship. I was like “wtf” when all of them were searching for Mashiro, especially Sorata who was frantic and she decided to tell all of those feelings to Sorata and here I am thinking i thought they’re panicking to find Mashiro. I find Akasaka and Rita cute because rhey have totally opposite personalities and Rita still pursues Akasaka. In addition to that is the fact they’re the first couple to kiss. Lol.

It was also an achievement for me to watch a 24-episode anime in 1 sitting and without staying up late since I finished it by 6pm. Congratulations to tue girl who cannot finish a series and prefers to postpone the ending because she got too attached with the characters and cannot accept that it’s over. I guess I passed throught that stage because I really loved the characters and the story and I was really hoping to finish it and I did. My attachment issues in anime is finally fixed although I have to be honest I almstcteared up in the graduation and goodbye part because I remembered my high school graduation. I really hate goodbyes. Too bad  Jin wasn’t shown in the hot pot party for the new borders. He was the only one missing. Nanami is not needed there(so bitter of me).

After finishing the series it, I was surprised I didn’t feel an empty space in my chest. The feeling of not knowing what to do next but I was sure I do not want to watch another anime series for now since it’s already late. I felt sad that I was done with series so I decided to find some comedy movies only to end up with a drama movie. I was really planning to watch Beauty and the Beast movie since I wasn’t able to watch it properly since my Aunt just talked all throughout the movie. But then, thinking about it, it’ll be boring since I already know the story. I was trying to find comedy but nothing’s catches my interest. I decided to check Animation genre and found A Silent Voice. I was having doubts in watching this since it’s drama and I read the manga. I was afraid to cry but I saw in my thumbnail in my Recommended section in Youtube that it’s one of the best romance movies so I watched.

It was beautiful although 2 hours is so long. I got really pissed with Ishida’s friends for denying that they were bullying Shouko espcecially Ueno. I really hate her . She’s the one who started it all. Ishida was mean but so is his friends. I know karma hit him badly since everything he did to Shouko returned to him but what got me pissed is the same bullies who bullied Shouko are the ones bullying him minus, of course, himself. When he ripped off the calendar and started crossing out days, I knew he was planning to kill himself and I was like “what the f why do I know that”. My least favorite character is Kawai. She’s plastic. Always playing safe and blame someone else from her mistakes. Not because she said harsh things loudly doesn’t mean she’s innocent because she did nothing to stop the bullies. She kaughed with them and tolerated them. I don’t really know if she showed genuine feelings in the last parts or she’s just pretending to let people know she’s harmness.

It’s beautiful that Ishida really regretted his actions and he took the effort of learning sign language. This movie just showed me that we cannot erase our past actions. Starting anew is hard and returning friendship the same way as before isn’t that easy or will never be the same. All we can do is accept and apologize. I was moved in the last part where Ishida removed his hands from his ears to block everyone and he started to hear everything. This scene to me seems like he’s going to participate in life again and new hope.

Random watch

My blog is slowly starting to become an anime blog. I don’t have anything else to write at the moment since watching animes is what I’m doing right now. So, to the post itself.

To help me go to sleep I watch Youtube videos. The Wallflower or Yamato Nadeshiko suddenly popped up in my Recommended section. I used to watch this anime during high school and loved it because it’s so random and funny. The drawings of the guys were funny because of their lips but it didn’t stop me for crushing on Kyohei and shipping him with Sunako. I read in the title that it’s english dubbed so I decided to watch it since I watched the engsub version.

Since it has 26 episodes, it took me a week to finish it again. Whenever I get home from work, I took out my iPad and watch. It’s so nice to reminisce the episodes and it’s still funny.Sunako really amazes me and she’s not ugly. She’s beautifu, it’s just she lost all of ber confidence because of being rejected by a guy. I admire that even if she’s hard to deal with, the 4 guys learned to care for her and become friends with her. I find the blonde girl, which is Ranmaru’s fiancee, pretty on the other hand.

I really find Sunako’s chibi really cute and whenever I saw her chibi form, I will always think that either she will say a cold comeback or something funny is going to happen. I am planning to rewatch the live-action again since it’s funny and Kameneshi Kazuya is playing Kyohei. I was a fan of KAT-TUN when I was in high

My sister saw me watching this anime and she told me to watch The Devil is a Part-Timer since I like random and comedy animes. She told me that it’s good and she really like it so I might as well try it. And so, after watching The Wallflower I watched The Devil is a Part-Timer.

The beginning of the first episodes didn’t amuse me because it was all action and medieval and here I thought it’s supposed to be comedy. I was delighted, however, that it only has 13 episodes which means I can finish it fast. And so, back to watching, my sister saw my reaction and told me that it’s only at the start and I should continue watching it.

I am thanful to my sister that she recommended this to me because it was entertaining. It got me bored at some parts but their dialogues are my favorite parts. Their humor is amusing. I thought that Maou was a predictable character since he’s the lead but I was wrong. Emi was more predictable than him. I like that his dense towards Chiho’s feelings because honestly, I ship him with Emi. I relly love Ashiya because he’s so loyal to Maou and he acts like a mother. lol. It’s so funny that Satan is working at a fast food restaurant and is doing well in managing his finances and his job. It’s ironic that he’s the Dark Lord but he’s doing so well in Earth that he gets a promotion and a human falls in love with him because of his kindness while the Church are perverts, assassins and wants to rule Ente Isla. In fact, they’re the antagonist. This irony is what makes it amusing and interesting.

Anime Marathon (Day 3)

It’s a Monday and I was on sick leave because my dysmenorrhea got worse. I decided to finish watching Diabolik Lovers and watch another anime since I cannot do much because of my cramps.
As mentioned, I watched Diabolik Lovers. It took me 3 tries to start watching this series. Why so many attempts? It”s because I find the protagonist cringey. So cringey. I cannot bring myself to watch it because Yui is so helpless.

This show reminds me of a harem Twilight. Yui is Bella and the Sakamaki brothers are all Edwards. Thankfully, I was able to finish this series finally. I was able to finish it because I was interested on knowing what will Yui do while staying in the Sakamaki household. I was also interested in each brothers’ personality. I like Ayato, Shu, and Subaru. Kanato was interesting too. All I could say in this series is they have harsh mothers. I feel bad with the triplets for having an abusive mother. Cordelia is so evil.

Next anime I watched is Ao Haru Ride. I was craving for some rom/com. This anime always comes up in the top 10 romcoms but never watched it because I heard it has a sad ending, drama, etc. I wondered how come it’s sad if it’s categorized in romcom. I read the plot and found no sad ending so I finally decided to watch it.

I love it! I love the anime so much. I just find their eyes so huge. It is a simple story and the plot is not complicated which I like. I like that Futaba was honest to Yuuri about her feelings to Kou. She really wants to love Kou and she was ready to lose her friend since they like the same guy unlike other plots who sacrificed their feelings for their friends instead of being honest. I love Kou because even if he speaks harshly he’s kind in the end.

One of my fave scenes was the window scene where he hugged Futaba because she’s crying. The scene was very cute and you can tell he really cares for her despite of his harsh way of speaking to her.

Another fave scene of mine was the Leadership camp where Kou found Futaba lying on a desk late at night.

Kou also laid his head beside her and they talked that way and when they finally met each other faces, ahhhhhh, hearts everywhere. My most favorite part of this scene is when Kou suddenly turn his back because they were both surprised being so close face to face and Futaba pat his head and nuzzled her nose in his hair. So sweet!!! Then Kou taking her hand and asked her if she loves him. Hearts. Hearts. All I see in this scene are hearts.

I also love the part where they fell on the hill and Kou finally showed his weakness and cried while hugging Futaba. That was the sweetest scene ever.

After watching this series, I watched its live action movie.

First impression: the guy is from Death Note and girl looks like Yuka Kinoshita.Shouka is so pretty and Kukichi is so cute. So cute!

Since I didn’t read the manga, I thought I was skipping the movie because the story was progressing fast. After remembering the manga’s plot, I realized that the anime is just like 1/4 of the whole story and a lot happened after it.

I really hate Narumi because she’s so selfish and I find Kou jerkier here than in anime. I almost voted for Kikuchi because Kou always ditches Futaba. I still shipped for them in the end.

Anime Marathon (Day 2)

It’s a Sunday today and I decided to watch more animes since I’m on my period and I have nothing else to do because of dysmenorrhea.

First movie I watched is Hotarubi no Mori e. Dude, I debated in watching this since I know it’s a sad movie and I don’t like sad endings. Why do beautiful movies often has a sad ending? Why? I always see screencaps of this movie in social media but often forget the title. I just always remember it’s a sad movie so I googled “Sad anime movies” and found it.

It was touching. Their relationship has no physical contact but they were able to build a close relationship. It’s this simple things that touches me. They have fun even if they have limitations in contact. They only meet every summer but they were able to touch each other’s hearts. I use the word “touch” a lot because it touched me but ironic that they do not actually touch. lol. They knew they’re never gonna be together and the festival is their last. But still, it’s so sad.

And then I reached the part where Gin is about to disappear because he accidentally touched a human child (see? a child again), I found it beautiful and sad.  I wanted to tear up when he said he can finally hug Hotaru. My heart, my dear heart. It is indeed a beautiful movie even if it has a bittersweet ending.

To cope up with the sadness, I watched Attack On Titan Season 2. More deaths to forget the sadness. It sounds sadistic but I did watch it. I was really planning to wait for the whole season to finish so I could prepare myself with more deaths since in this anime, a lot of people die.

I first read what the episodes are about now and got confused since I thought Armin is already a titan, Berthold’s already dead, and so is Erwin. Only to find out I mixed the plots I read and that I actually read the plot of the current manga instead of the anime. To tell you the truth, I am reading the plots first before watching it because I am making sure that Levi is not dead. I love Eren but I love Levi more and Levi’s the reason I’m watching it.

They’re still screaming Eren’s name a lot since Eren still loses control because of his emotions. I am sometimes annoyed with Christa because she’s so helpless and I already hate Zeke Yeager/Beast Titan. I find Berthold and Reiner’s transformation really amazing. The animation is so beautiful. I feel a bit bad about them because it seems they got attached already. I always do my research before watching and I already knew since season 1 they’re titan shifters. Ymir annoys me a bit because it seems in the last episode she sides with Reiner because of what Reiner said about Christa’s future. Sasha amuses me now and I was so afraid for her when she used an arrow to attach the titan. I am looking forward for this anime. Please don’t kill Levi.

I used to watch Attack on Titan and Tokyo Ghoul on the same day but I heard nothing from Tokyo Ghoul yet. Sad.

Anime Marathon (Day 1)

It was a Saturday and I decided to watch the movies I was able to find (randomly) during the weekdays. I woke up at around 7-7:30 am(body clock) and debated whether I should sleep or watch my movies right away. I ended up just lying in the bed ’til 8:30am because of overthinking stuffs. I at breakfast and proceeded in watching movies.

First is Death Note: Light Up the New World

To be honest, I wasn’t reallyy interested in watching this at first because live-actions are often disappointing and Death Note is my favorite anime so I don’t want it to be ruined. Nevertheless, I watched all live-action movies and series except for  L’s movies and the prequel of this movie which is entitled “New Generation”. It all changed when a colleague at work told me that the movie was actually good and I should watch it since I’m a fan of the series.

I watched it yesterday and I was amused and satisfied. L for me is still the better P.I. than his clone. Like way better and still nobody could replace Light Yagami. Shien was an interesting Death Note holder since he’s a cyber-terrorist and he uses his hacking skills to collect all the notebooks and to attack his enemies. I just cannot believe that Light’s successor was a 9-year old kid who went insane of using the notebook. This is why children are scary in horror/thriller movies. I was amused that the actors in the past movies are in the movie and are playing the roles they have. I didn’t expect for Misa Amane to be alive since in the anime, she seems to commit suicide. It was nice seeing Matsuda and sad to see him die.

The plot twist seems kinda rushed for me since it all came from a flashback. I find it quite funny when he shot Mikami because Mikami was about to write Ryo’s name when Ryo shot him and it reminded me of a gif I saw on Tumblr of Harry Potter shooting Voldemort using a gun because it’s faster than a wand. Lol.  I wasn’t entirely sure if Ryo is on what side in the end though. Yeah he replaced Ryuzaki but as seen in the flashback, he planned everything before disowning the death note and I’m not sure if he really had a change of mind about it.

Next movie is Perfect Blue. I debated whether I should watch it or not because I was scared I might get nightmares after watching it. I discovered this movie in Youtube when a random video popped up in my Recommended section entitled “Why Perfect Blue is terrifying”. The video was about avatars and the stalker part gave me the creeps that made me think twice about watching it.

It was an interesting watch and may become one of my favorite movies. I want to watch it again actually. The animation was good and thinking rhat this movie was launched during the 90s, wow. The plot was interesting and the stalker gave me the creeps. Like the drawing was so creepy, I cannot watch closely because his face was so creepy to watch. I read the plot before watching it so I could follow the flow of the story and to understand it better. Some parts made me confused because both Rumi and Mima are psycho except Rumi was doing the killing and Mima have a different perception of reality. Why does Mima get those dreams of killing the photographer if she wasn’t the one who killed her and how did Rumi ended up that way. My slight idea of Rumi ending up that way is because she used to be an idol and seeing Mima do the rape scene of Double Bind disturbed her a lot but why ending up to think that she’s the real Mima? Was that she’s so obssessed with Mima being an idol that she ended up that way? I guess it’s that. Mima also changed after the rape scene because she thought they wouldn’t do the real thing and her pop idol innocence washed away. I wonder about the pop Idol Mima image she sees though. Was that her inner conscience telling her that she doesn’t really want to be an actress and is just doing so because she was told to? She said so herself she doesn’t want to bother others because they’re taking care of her a lot. This movie makes me really curious that peaks my interest.

I discovered via Facebook. I saw the trailer in my news feed and watched it. It captured my interest since it’s about fashion and ebay resellers. I also thought that Brit Robertson is badass compared to her previous roles.

First episode was all cussing. At first, I thought Sophia was being childish because she just really wants the easy way out in adult living. She steals when she feels like it and she whines a lot. It was tolerable at the beginning. The scene where she bought the vintage jacket was my favorite scene though.

As I progress in watching the next episodes, I found Sophia annoying. She’s selfish and self-centered. She doesn’t care about stepping on others just to get what she wants. I felt bad for Annie, her bestfriend, because she has to live with Sophia’s ego although Annie herself is also sometimes annoying because she makes a big deal about the smallest things and she’s dense.

For me, it’s like Annie doesn’t want to achieve that much. She’s contented on helping her friend. I get the impression that relationships are more important to her than success. I got really annoyed with her when her boyfriend, Dax, is telling her to not take acids from strangers and she gets on whining what’s so wrong in taking acids from a stranger and she’s getting angry with Dax because he’s no fun. Like what? You have a good boyfriend and you don’t like it?

I didn’t feel bad with Sophia about the office space lease where her father didn’t fully trust in naming it under her name. I mean she has bad credit records and lies about her landlord. I mean yeah, there are 2nd chances, but come on, prove yourself first.

I started sympathizing with Sophia on the last episodes of the series. We see her mom who left her to pursue her dreams in acting but still has gotten nowhere. We see where Sophia got her rebellious traits like her and her mom stealing a Christmas Tree. I have to say that the turning point for me in changing my mind about Sophia is when she caught her boyfriend, Shayne, cheating on her. She was human after all. I thought she’s just gonna let Shayne’s cheating past but no, she did not. She got hurt. I love the part where she revelead Shayne cheating on her in front of the whole band through the recording room. I felt bad for her during the launch. Even if they sold out, Shayne’s cheating still haunts her.

Overall, Girlboss is okay. It’s not the best but the last episodes makes it tolerable. I would still watch out for Season 2 and made me interested in reading the book.

Weekend Stroll

I decided to stroll around our neighborhood for a change.

I woke up at 8am and ate my breakfast. After eating, I debated whether I should do some walking or just watch TV series since it’s a long weekend.

Walking or anything commute is a debate thing for me since I’m having trouble going outside due to my stomach illness. I have no confidence of going outside so travelling is a no-no for now. Since I want to gain my confidence again and I recently had my medical procedure, I decided to do some walking for a change.

I just took a stroll from our house up to the neighborhood’s clubhouse like I used to do. Our neighborhood is on a hill so roads are steep. As much as I want to climb into the roof deck, I didn’t because it was hot so I stayed under it. Upon reaching there, I noticed the somehow abandoned Gazebo.

The gazebo and playground are located downhill so I had to go down to get there. I was so disappointed with the trash and felt bad that the place wasn’t well maintained. The playground is rusty. The swings, monkey bars, and seesaw are all in rust. A few meters is the rusty gazebo.

I never looked at the gazebo as finished because the pond (supposedly) surround it was never filled with water. I remember when we had a tour in the area while my parents were planning to buy a house, the real estate agent told us that the gazebo will be surrounded with a fish pond where we can do fish feeding. And now, it just looks like that.

I took my time in the gazebo even if I hear kids playing in the pool nearby. I reminisced my college days and the days I spent living there.

It was getting hotter so I decided to head home. While climbing uphill, I saw flowers and mimosa plants. I appreciated its beauty then started touching the mimosa plants. I remember, as a kid, whenever I see this kind of plant I always touch it so it would close and that’s what I did.

Cheese in the Trap – Completed

Yes! I completed reading Cheese in the Trap and ahhhh, the feels! I am so satisfied with the epilogue. It completed me. Seeing Yoo Jung cry like that because he realized everything is done and so scared to lose Seol I was in awe because he has changed so much and I’m happy. I was also relieved thay Seol thinks in a mature way and really loves Jung that she doesn’t want them to break up but to kept on trying. My heart, ahhhh. I’m truly going to miss this series and I didn’t know it’s been running for 7 years. Wow!

I want to shed a tear because this webtoon/manhwa is so different from the usual stories. It depicts real life. The ending was simple but realistic. I was really preparing myself for them to break up because of the differences of Seol and Jung but guess what? They didn’t break up. In the end, they’re still together. I thought in the last few chapters they’re gonna break up. Seeing Jung crying breaks my heart but I’m glad he was able to express himself.

Unlike the drama version, it was so clear that there was no love triangle in the first place. Seol never looked or felt romantic with Inho. She only looked at him as a friend. Baek-Inha was a surprise to me because I was really comparing the drama version and webtoon version only discovering that the last few eps of the drama was totally different with the manhwa. She was only looking for belongingness and for someone to stay with her. I’m glad Jaewoo and her are still in touch.

As for our JungSeol couple, I knew that the little girl Professor Baek was describing was Seol but I didn’t expect that little JungSeol have already met when they were kids.

Season 4 really showed a lot of the stories in Jung’s side. He wasn’t weird. He was misunderstood and I felt bad for him for having a father like that. My favorite part was the epilogue. Jung crying because he realized everything he has done and regretting it. He understood everything now and he is so scared for Seol to leave. “Do you hate me now?” saying that while crying. My heart. </3 And Seol saying “Are you the sunbae I know. You’re like a child.” But no, she doesn’t hate him. Ahh, that scene. Then the parents suddenly appear. Hahaha. Privacy please, parents and Joon! Lol.

My most fave part in the epilogue was Seol saying that even if she still doesn’t understand how Sunbae thinks, she doesn’t want to break up but keep on trhing. That struck me so much. She was even the one asking if Jung will leave.

Ahhh. This story. I will miss this! The hugs and the holding hands, there were all touching and sincere.

I am looking forward to the movie especially now that I discovered that the author (Soonki) herself is the one writing the script. Either it’s a continuation of the drama, an after story, or the whole manhwa, I’m looking forward for it.

As for me, I’m still reading other stories like UnOrdinary but Cheese in the Trap is truly unforgettable and unique. It will always be one of my favorites.

Cheese in the Trap

Cheese in the Trap is a South Korean TV series based from a manhwa of the same name. It tells the story of a hard-working college student named Seol who gets involved with her mysterious senior named Jung. The show depicts some realistic situations as a student and audience will surely wonder (with Seol) about Sunbae’s mysterious personality.

To start, I only watched the series because of the webtoon/manhwa. I’m a fan of the LINE webtoon series because I like the flow of the story. It’s not a heavy dramatic story but simple yet very interesting. I stumbled upon this show when I googled information about the manhwa. I was really curious how koreans will portray a manhwa in a live-action setting like how the japanese do live-actions of their manga. I am also curious how Jung Yoo will be portrayed since he’s my fave character in the story and he has a quite complicated personality.

I searched for information about this show first (it’s what I always do before watching anything) and was surprised to learn Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk of Weightlifting Fairy are here. I love them both and loved the series because it’s not the typical korean drama for me. Anyway, they are playing as Inha and Eun Taek in this series and seeing Lee Sung Kyung as a crazy villain is surprising (for me) because watching her as Bok Joo is so different compared to Baek Inha. Bok Joo is boyish while Inha is so posh. She did a good job though, she’s really crazy and funny as Inha. As for Nam Joo Hyuk, he’s still adorable as Eun Taek. Eun Taek will do everything for BoRa as Joon Hyung will always be loyal to Bok Joo.

What I like about Korean dramas is they don’t need to have a lot of kissing scenes to make you fall in love. Just sweet gestures is enough to make you all giddy.

While watching, I sometimes get annoyed with Seol because she doesn’t tell Jung anything that’s happening to her (Younggon’s stalking, copycat Minsoo) and that’s not how relationship works and I find myself go grr because she doesn’t say how she feels. Sigh. I understand she doesn’t want to trouble her boyfriend but those kinds of situations are exemptions.

I like spoilers because I want to see if I would like the show until the end. I read the plot of the whole series and so I didn’t finish it. I only watched until Episode 12. I’m neutral with open endings but an open ending for this series is a no-no for me because I’m already attached to it. I know it has an original ending since the webtoon is still ongoing but still I cannot accept it. Seeing it end that way, I cannot bare it. I also read other reviews about the series and was disappointed that in the later episodes, we wouldn’t see a lot of Jung but more of Inho which is different from the webtoon based from the articles. More stories about the Baek siblings than the main lead Jung. I’m not sure if the later episodes were loyal to the manhwa because the LINE webtoon app (which is the translated version) is still in season 3 while the korean version is already in season 4.

Park Jae Hin did a really good job in portraying Jung Yoo. He really captured the webtoon Jung and because of that I started to adore Park Jae Hin. He’s like the Jung Yoo in real life. Kim Go Eun did a good job in portraying Hong Seol. Eun Taek and BoRa was so adorable together even if Bora is more girly here than in the manhwa. Inho is still the lovable troublemaker and her sister is still crazy as ever. The casting was perfect . All of the actors suit their characters and it’s a huge plus in this series.

I am looking forward for the film adaptation even if it has a different cast and I really hope that the film’s ending is better. I heard that the fil screenwriter is the authot herself.

Even if I didn’t finish this series, I’m still getting a hangover.

I decided to watch episodes 13-15 after reading the plots in dramabeans but I won’t finish the 15th episode. The sudden car accident was too confusing and too much for the drama. Does Seol really need to be in a car accident? Did that really happen in the manhwa? I have no idea.

I have no plans in watching the finale because Jung did not even appear in the last bits. He figured out things offscreen. Like what? He’s the lead character and he doesn’t even appear in the last bits of the finale? I didn’t even know how he finally discovered his self. I only got a read message in the computer screen that they think will suffice his development and show a flashback of Jung and Seol as the ending? I want justice!

The drama started off really great but the later parts were disappointing especially the finale. I love the series because it taught me so many things which happens in real life. Victim complex, assumptions, taking things for granted, using people, keeping every thing to yourself without help, underappreciated. These are some things that happen but we usually ignore, what we often think as common, and I like that it tackles it here. I hope the movie and original manhwa would have a better ending than this.

Episodes 1-12 were the best episodes, 13-16 were meh. Episodes 13-16 were all about In-ho and In-ha. Don’t get me wrong, I love In-ho Baek but not for the In-ho ❤ Seol tandem. They pushed for a love triangle rather than developing characters’ development. We slowly lost the male lead which is Jung. They didn’t even include stories about him. I  hope that the movie version gives a much better perspective to Jung.

It doesn’t matter to me if the film adaptation has a different cast except for Park Hae Jin as Jung Yoo. All I want is it has a better take of the manhwa in the film especially to Jung’s character. I love the manhwa that’s why I would really like if it is executed well.
